1. Scope and Acceptance
This Privacy Policy applies to the Spont Networking mobile application, related websites, customer support channels, and other services that link to this Policy (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Service, the features you choose, and the permissions you grant.
2.1 Account and profile information
- Name, username, email address, and phone number.
- Date of birth or age information used to confirm eligibility.
- Profile photograph, biography, interests, skills, profession, organisation, and other profile details you choose to provide.
- Login credentials, authentication identifiers, and account status.
2.2 Networking and social information
- Connection requests, accepted connections, blocked users, reports, and account preferences.
- Groups, events, communities, interactions, reactions, and other networking activity.
- Information you submit when searching for or communicating with other users.
2.3 User-generated content and communications
- Posts, comments, photographs, videos, documents, voice notes, and other content you upload or share.
- Messages and communication metadata needed to deliver communications, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and maintain platform safety.
- Support requests, feedback, complaints, and reports submitted to us.
2.4 Location information
If you enable location-based features and grant permission, we may collect approximate or precise location information to help you discover relevant people, events, opportunities, or content nearby. You can disable location access through your device settings, although some location-based features may then be unavailable.
2.5 Contacts and invitations
If you choose to invite contacts or use contact-based discovery, the Service may access selected contact information with your permission. Where supported, we use privacy-preserving contact selection methods and do not require broad access when a limited selection is sufficient.
2.6 Device, usage, and technical information
- Device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and device identifiers.
- IP address, network information, login times, pages or screens viewed, feature usage, and interaction logs.
- Crash reports, diagnostics, performance information, and security logs.
- Push notification token and notification preferences.
2.7 Information from third parties
If you sign in through a third-party authentication provider, we may receive information authorised by you, such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider-specific account identifier. We may also receive information from service providers that help us prevent fraud, secure accounts, operate infrastructure, or provide customer support.
3. Device Permissions
Depending on the features you use, Spont Networking may request access to the following device capabilities:
- Camera and photos/media: to capture, upload, or share profile images and user content.
- Microphone: to record voice notes, audio, or other user-requested media.
- Location: to provide nearby discovery or location-based networking features.
- Contacts: to let you select people to invite or discover, when enabled.
- Notifications: to send account, connection, message, event, safety, and service alerts.
Permission requests are optional unless the permission is necessary for a feature you choose to use. You may withdraw permissions through your device settings. The Service should continue to provide reasonable functionality where a permission is not essential.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts.
- Display profiles and enable networking, discovery, messaging, connections, groups, and events.
- Personalise recommendations and improve the relevance of content and connections.
- Provide customer support and respond to requests or complaints.
- Send service messages, security alerts, notifications, and updates.
- Detect spam, fraud, impersonation, harassment, harmful conduct, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Investigate user reports, enforce our standards, and protect users and the public.
- Measure performance, fix errors, conduct analytics, and improve the Service.
- Comply with applicable law, lawful requests, and legal obligations.
6. User Content and Communications
You control the content you choose to publish or send. Content shared publicly, in groups, at events, or with other users may be copied, saved, reshared, or captured by recipients outside our control.
We do not routinely read private communications. However, we may review content that is reported, detected by safety systems, or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our rules, address security incidents, or comply with law.
Please do not share sensitive personal information through public profiles, posts, or communications unless necessary and appropriate.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication safeguards, monitoring, backups, and restricted staff or vendor access.
No internet or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your credentials, using a strong password, and promptly notifying us about suspected unauthorised access.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, satisfy the purposes stated in this Policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods vary by data type. After an account is deleted, we aim to remove or de-identify associated personal information from active systems within 30 days. Limited information may remain in secure backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten through normal backup cycles.
We may retain certain information for longer where required by law or reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, or the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Where possible, retained information will be restricted and used only for those purposes.
9. Account and Data Deletion
9.1 Delete your account inside the app
- Open the Spont Networking app.
- Go to Profile or Settings.
- Select Account Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Review the information shown and confirm your deletion request.
9.2 Request deletion through the web or email
If you cannot access the app, send an account deletion request to Hworld@spont.blog using the email address or phone number associated with your account.
Please include:
- Your full name.
- Your registered email address or phone number.
- Your username, if available.
- A clear statement that you want your account and associated personal data deleted.
9.3 What deletion includes
Subject to verification and legal exceptions, deleting your account will permanently disable your account and delete or de-identify personal information associated with it, including profile information, connection information, preferences, and content stored solely under your account.
9.4 Information that may remain
- Messages or content already shared with other users may remain in their accounts or records.
- Content copied, quoted, reshared, or captured by other users may remain outside our control.
- Safety, moderation, fraud-prevention, transaction, audit, or legal records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.
- De-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you may be retained.
- Residual copies may remain temporarily in secure backups as described in the Data Retention section.
We may request reasonable information to verify that the deletion request relates to your account. We will not require you to create a new account solely to submit a deletion request.
10. Children's Privacy and Age Restrictions
We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information from them. Users must provide accurate age information and must not misrepresent their age.
If we learn that a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, we may suspend the account, request age verification where lawful, and delete the account and associated information, subject to safety and legal retention requirements.
A parent, guardian, or other concerned person may report a suspected underage account by emailing Hworld@spont.blog. Please provide enough information for us to identify and review the relevant account without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
11. Child Safety Standards
Spont Networking maintains a zero-tolerance policy against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Users must not create, upload, request, distribute, promote, store, link to, or facilitate content or conduct that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child.
11.1 Prohibited conduct
Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:
- CSAM or any sexual depiction of a person under 18.
- Grooming or attempting to build trust with a child for sexual exploitation or abuse.
- Sextortion, sexual blackmail, or threats involving a child or alleged child imagery.
- Sexualisation of minors or soliciting sexual content from a minor.
- Child trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, or facilitating contact for such purposes.
- Sharing links, instructions, coded references, or other material intended to help users find or distribute CSAM.
- Any conduct that otherwise exploits, abuses, or endangers a child.
11.2 Reporting and in-app safety tools
Users should use the in-app Report feature available on profiles, posts, messages, groups, events, or other relevant content. Users may also block accounts where the feature is available.
Child safety concerns may be reported directly to our designated child safety contact at Hworld@spont.blog.
When reporting, include the relevant username, profile link, content location, date, and a brief description. Do not download, forward, or redistribute suspected CSAM. Preserve only the information necessary to identify where it appears in the Service.
11.3 Enforcement and legal compliance
When we obtain actual knowledge of suspected CSAE or CSAM, we may take prompt action including restricting access, removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, preserving relevant evidence, and reporting confirmed or suspected illegal material to the appropriate law-enforcement, child-protection, or legally designated reporting authority, including regional authorities where applicable.
We cooperate with valid legal requests and comply with applicable child safety laws and reporting obligations.
12. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Receive a portable copy of certain information.
- Lodge a complaint with an applicable data protection authority.
You can update certain information and preferences in the app. For other requests, contact us at Hworld@spont.blog. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
You may control location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos/media, and notification permissions through your device settings.
13. International Data Transfers
Spont Networking and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data protection laws may differ across countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and require service providers to protect information consistently with this Policy and applicable law.
14. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party authentication, hosting, analytics, messaging, mapping, notification, moderation, or other services. Third parties may process information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before using third-party services.
We are responsible for selecting and configuring third-party services used by the app in a manner intended to support applicable privacy and security requirements, but we do not control independent third-party services that you choose to access outside Spont Networking.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, security practices, or data-handling practices. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Where required, we may also provide notice in the app or request consent before material changes take effect.
